Competition Sizzles this Saturday at State Farm Shootout

Bowling Green, Ky.—For the second year, high school basketball teams from across the region will gather Saturday at Bowling Green High School for the State Farm Shootout beginning at 12:30 p.m.  This non-stop day of competition offers back-to-back games from some of the state’s top contenders just as the season is really heating up.

Newcomers this year include Trotwood-Madison traveling from just west of Dayton, Ohio along with second year participants Wayne High School from Huber Heights near Dayton. Competing teams from Kentucky include Madisonville North Hopkins, Cumberland County, Louisville Doss, Louisville Male, Louisville Eastern, and Henderson County.  Region 4 participants include Franklin-Simpson, Allen County Scottsville, Greenwood, and Bowling Green.

“We were hoping with this tournament to offer both the spectators and players a level of competition not normally seen in this portion of the state,” State Farm agent D.C. Clement said.  “Last year was a tremendous success and we immediately knew we would host another shootout in 2010.”

Tickets cost $6 for adults, $3 for students K-12, and children under 5 are free.  One ticket allows access to all six games throughout the day.

Spectators can expect loads of giveaways from State Farm throughout the day while watching talented future college players.  For Bowling Green visitor’s information, go to visitbgky.com or call the Convention and Visitors Bureau at 800-326-7465 for a complimentary guide to accommodations, attractions, restaurants, and shopping available in the area.
