Celebrated Author Mitch Albom to Headline
10th Anniversary of SOKY Book Fest

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The partners of the Southern Kentucky Book Fest are thrilled to announce that Mitch Albom will be the featured guest at the 10th Anniversary of Book Fest next spring.

The 2008 Book Fest is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green and will also feature best-selling thriller writer Harlan Coben, American Girl writer Kathleen Ernst, and children’s author and illustrator of the Arthur books Marc Brown.

Albom is the author of nine books, including the newest, For One More Day. His first novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, is the most successful U.S. hardcover first novel ever and has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Tuesdays with Morrie, his chronicle of time spent with a beloved but dying college professor, spent four years on the New York Times Best Sellers list and is the most successful memoir ever published.

International bestseller Harlan Coben is author of the acclaimed series about sports agent Myron Bolitar. Coben is winner of the Edgar Award, Shamus Award, and Anthony Award. Kathleen Ernst has written six titles for American Girl including Kit mystery Midnight in Lonesome Hollow set in the Appalachian mountains of Kentucky. Marc Brown is creator of the Arthur the aardvark stories which have sold 60 million copies and spawned the Emmy Award-winning PBS television series.

SOKY Book Fest is Kentucky’s largest literary festival and a fundraiser for the promotion of literacy. The event attracts thousands of readers of all ages who welcome the opportunity to meet their favorite authors and purchase signed copies of their works.
