Veteran joins Visitors Bureau
Bowling Green,
Ky.- The Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau
welcomes Marissa Butler as their Public Relations Coordinator. The
Nashville, Tenn. native made Bowling Green her home after graduating
from WKU in 1998 with a Journalism degree.
Butler’s tourism
industry experience began in high school at Opryland Theme Park
as an area guide. Switching to restaurants in college, she was part
of the opening crew of Montana Grille on Scottsville Rd. where she
learned every position before being named General Manager in 2004.
A temporary relocation in 2006 took her to Lexington, Ky. where
she worked at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the sales department.
“Southern hospitality is in my blood,” said Butler.
“I feel everything I’ve done has led me directly to
this organization and look forward to promoting the great restaurants,
hotels and unique attractions in our region.”
Upcoming projects include
an area guide for the “green” traveler, highlighting
environmentally friendly destinations and ecotourism sites, and
promotions of the new Duncan Hines exhibit opening this August at
the Kentucky Museum.
