Bowling Green, Ky. —May 3, 2017—The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) has named Ice Cream & a Moovie at Chaney’s Dairy Barn one of the STS Top 20 Events in the Southeast for July 2017. This year’s Ice Cream & a Moovie runs every other weekend from May 26 to September 16.

Cool off on a hot summer night with fresh homemade ice cream from Chaney’s, the best ice cream parlor in the state according to USA Today. Family-friendly movies are projected on the side of the barn at this free public event. Attendance grows each year, with over 18 thousand gallons of ice cream produced annually.

“We love being part of the southcentral Kentucky community and are honored to receive this designation,” Carl Chaney said. “Every Ice Cream & a Moovie night is themed with special seasonal activities.”

The full movie schedule and offerings can be found on the Chaney’s Dairy Barn Facebook page.

The STS Top 20 Festival and Event Awards have highlighted programs around the Southeast since 1985. Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites: EscapeToTheSoutheast.com and Travel Media Press Room.

“The Top 20 Festival and Event list is an excellent guide for the Southeast’s visitors, residents and travel writers.  The events selected represent the best, and often most unique, activities in our region,” Bill Hardman, STS President and CEO, said.
