Frankfort, Ky.—September 8, 2015—The Kentucky Travel Industry Association (KTIA) has selected U.S. Bank Balloons, Tunes & BBQ and the GoodGuys 4th Nostalgia Nationals as two of its Fall 2015 Top Festivals & Events.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary in Bowling Green, south central Kentucky’s balloon and BBQ fest returns at the Bowling Green/Warren Airport.  Have fun with Kids’ Night on Thursday and Fruit of the Loom Family Night on Friday, featuring music from headliner country music sensation Joe Nichols, plus The Farm and Jericho Woods.  Take in music Saturday night by country star Mark Wills, rocking with Confederate Railroad and Can Winkle.  The fest features balloon tether rides, delicious BBQ, a Hare and Hound balloon chase, kids’ games and much more.  More details can be found at http://www.balloonstunesbbq.com or by phone at 270-745-7590.

Returning to Bowling Green for the first time in several years, the GoodGuys 4th Nostalgia Nationals at Beech Bend Raceway features hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars and trucks through 1972. The three-day event features drag racing, a swap meet, live music, free entertainment for the kids, vendor and manufacturer booths and autocross.  General admission is $25 at the gate and kids ages 7-12 are $6.  Military personnel receive a $5 discount on admission. A panel of impartial judges selects the KTIA Top Festivals & Events for each season. Criteria for selection include popularity of the event, its impact on the local tourism economy, plus cultural and historical significance.

Bowling Green is hosting the 2015 KTIA Annual Conference, to be held October 19-21 at Sloan Convention Center, which will feature sightseeing tours and local flavor for statewide tourism officials and travel media.
